I have a named expression that among other things pulls the Sheet Name out for part of the Print Definition name. Some of my sheet names have a hard return in them that works perfectly to put longer sheet names on 2 lines in a field when needed. The problem is the Named Expression also pulls in that hard return into the Print Definition name which causes an error when it tries to generate a pdf. Is there anyway to automatically force Print Organizer to ignore the hard returns?
I been trying to have multiple lines in MicroStation SS4 for the "Sheet Name" field in a model. Can you tell me how you are able to have multiple names in that field?
Just copy and paste. Type some text on 2 lines into the text editor then copy that text and place it into the Sheet Name field and it will hold the return when it's used in a field. You can also copy text that has been placed in the drawing with the same results.
Thanks, I been able to duplicate. I appears that is interpreting the "hard return" as a space. Let me do some research.
Here's what the error looks like that I get when I try to generate a pdf and it runs into one of those hard returns.
FYI - I filed defect 772539 to bring the issue to the attention of our development team. I also created an SR 7000696103 under your name to track it. BTW, I have not been able to make that "return" disappear. My workaround would be to refrain from using it at this time. Note that if you key-in the name manually the "return" takes you out of the field.
Thanks. I suspected that would be the case. I will just have to deal with it manually.
