I edited my pen table to print Color 36 as an RGB color. If I use File>Print it plots in color like I want it to. If I use print organizer, assign the same pen table, it prints black. I'm sure I am overlooking some setting. What is it?
What print driver are you using for each? Are they the same? Are you sure you are loading the same pen table for both? Is there a different pen table defined in the plot driver that may be overriding the when defined by PO or vice versa?
We need to know what version of Microstation you are using and whether you use .plt or .pltcfg print drivers
Power InRoads v8i V08.11.07.615
Microstation CONNECT U11 10.11.00.36
Mstn V8i SS4 v08.11.09.829 Inroads V8i SS2 v08.11.07.625, no Power Roads
As far as I can tell I'm using the exact same pentable and pltcfg table for each method of plotting.
I do not see a place to set the pentable in the plot driver (File>Print, File>Edit printer driver configuration). In the main File>Print dialog I see where to set the pentable and it is the one I want.
In print organizer if I look at the properties of a sheet it is using the same pen table as regular plotting.
I'm plotting sheets, but if i plot from a fence in the design file it plots colors. If I plot one sheet from the sheet file using File>Print it plots colors. If i plot from print organizer it plots black.
Pen table would be defined here
Open Print Organizer and check the properties of one of your Print Definitions. Go to the Advanced tab and see what the Color Options is set to. If set to Monochrome change it to True Color and try again.
Some screenshots of you PO settings may be needed. Maybe a copy of your .pltcfg also.
mwlong, thanks for the help. it was the Color setting, advanced tab in Print Organizer properties dialog for the sheets.
Today I have a similar problem - (different machine) is changing the linestyle from one custom linestyle to another custom linestyle. I cannot find the setting. it prints correctly from File>Print in msthn. See below for screen shots of the Print Organizer properties settings dialog.
Also, we just installed Microstation on this machine a week ago.
The only thing that jumps out at me is the screenshot for the Advanced Tab. It shows you are utilizing a Project Workspace "!Water". I do not define these in my PO sets. Do you need to have one defined? We always open our project and run PO from inside that session so we are already in the correct workspace. That workspace could have the same line style name as another workspace but the styles could be different (from the resource files)
I'm not sure. It must have defaulted to !Water since that is the project I opened with? We are a city, so each agency has its own particular standards. !Water is water utility related.
I am trying different workspace configuration variables, like MS_PLT_ENGINE_CMDLINE_ARGS and MS_SYMBRSC. so far no joy, too many variables to check for an ignoramous like me, so I am going to export the workspace configuration from a working machine and try the .ucf on the new install.
thanks for the assistance. if I solve it I will let you know what worked.
