When printing PDF with Connect R8, raster image transparency is ignored. I use the level that the image is on with transparency set to 50. The image is a MrSid. Tried my standard .pltcfg and the system printer.pltcfg.

For transparency to work you need to turn on Rasterized. This is the same WAD in Connect and in v8i.

Hope this helps and regards

Thanks. What is WAD? They're fine in v8i 08.11.09. I'll check my plot config files, could be missing something. I know about this rasterized setting, hopefiully it will allow my PDF output to be text searchable, as they are now.
And thanks to whoever moved this to the correct forum. Seems I'm not real familiar with landscape. Looked for a simple list of forums, no luck.

PDF on V8i does NOT require you to rasterize the entire image to get transparency on certain items. However it doesn't show transparency in the print preview. Rasterize turns the entire image into a flat, none layer raster file (like jpg), rendering it useless for searching text.
Since I do not have Connect, I can only suggest opening both the V8i and Connect driver in a text editor like notepad and compare them line by line.

I will try forcing rasterized output, but if it adds to process time I have another issue (my list is long, most will be worked out with a little research). Really hating Connect, hope that changes soon!
Thanks for that link, I see what I was looking for under Topics, no wonder I couldn't find it, dumby me was searching "forum".
