Print to PDF from Drawing

Hello,

I am having a problem with printing to PDF out of a drawing in Microstation.  When I select a fence, then go to file>print and select a Bentley PDF driver and hit plot....nothing happens.  I am not getting the "save as" dialog box pop up that I would expect.  In addition, I am not able to select a windows driver to try to use a windows PDF printer as a possibly solution.

Also worth noting, this problem is only happening on projects hosted on ProjectWise.  When I work on a project that is locally hosted I am able to print to PDF and select a windows printer as expected.

Any ideas???

  • Jan,

    Here is some more information.....

    Windows:  Version 10.0.1629

Mirostation:  PowerGeopak V8i (SELECT series 4) Version 08.11.09.878

Projectwise:  ProjectWise Explorer V8i (SELECT series 4) Version 08.11.11.590

The print preview does update and look accurate.  I have tried the method to select the drive and set parameters prior to setting the fence and it does not make a difference.

I am using a .pltcfg driver file.

I am using a managed workspace through ProjectWise.  The workspace used on ProjectWise is not controlled by my firm and is controlled by the client so I am not able to modify anything with it.   However, there are contacts from other firms that I have checked with that are able to print from a drawing in ProjectWise using the same managed workspace.

  • Jacob,

Off the top of my head  - If everything else is working fine, I'd run a repair on the PW install.
This falls into the "jiggle the plug" category of fixes.
Also - Check the message center at the bottom of the screen - are you getting any messages like "error creating plot file" etc.
Do you have any workspaces that might be interfering with the PW workspace?
Try doing a "Save as" of your dgn file - does that work? I'm thinking maybe a permissions problem.
