Hello,
I am having a problem with printing to PDF out of a drawing in Microstation. When I select a fence, then go to file>print and select a Bentley PDF driver and hit plot....nothing happens. I am not getting the "save as" dialog box pop up that I would expect. In addition, I am not able to select a windows driver to try to use a windows PDF printer as a possibly solution.
Also worth noting, this problem is only happening on projects hosted on ProjectWise. When I work on a project that is locally hosted I am able to print to PDF and select a windows printer as expected.
Any ideas???
Did you ever find a solution for this?? I am having the same issue with a new workspace in ProjectWise and your symptoms sound similar to mine. I can't get it to open the save dialog box when I either the print button or the "print to file" button.
I did not find a fix. Instead I have been using workarounds. I usually just load things into print organizer which still works fine. As I mentioned it is only in PW and I don't use PW for all of my projects so it was only somewhat of an impact on my work.
Please let me know if you do find something.
Are you using the same .pltcfg file in PW as you are in just plain Microstation plot dialog? If you are not, the one you are using in PW may have a hard path coded to save the file to a specific location. If this is so, you will not receive the Save As dialog.

Well that's troubling! I have submitted a Bentley ticket and awaiting a response. We are moving to mainly PW so this is an issue I need to resolve. It only seems to be affecting our datasource and not other firms.
Yes it is the same plotcfg that I use regularly outside of PW with no issues. PW doesn't have a predefined location for outputs like that. I have reviewed other datasources with other firms and this issue doesn't occur.
I determined my issue. Apparently the system had MS_PLTFILES defined to a PW folder that doesn't exist. I suggest your pull your configurations and see what the variable is for it. Once I defined it to something that existed, it works perfectly fine. You could also undefine it and it would work that way as well.
I tried a test by modifying it at the user level before implementing it through configurations.
