Good Afternoon Folks,
I'm working in: MicroStation v8i SS2, plotter is a OCE PlotWave750
I'm trying to setup a printstyle for Print Organizer so I can print a set of plans with a Windows driver (or more specifically a OCE print driver in this case), and I have run into a problem where the output of Print Organizer is a series of OCE print preview dialog boxes popping up for every sheet. As far as the look of the sheets go everything appears to be the correct size, and the pentable looks like it is applied, it is just foolish to have to go through each dialog box and hit "Ok" in order to print a set of drawings.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
This is the older Bentley Print Driver based Printstyle: (This one runs properly with just one OCE dialog box appearing for the entire sheet set).
And this next one is the Windows print driver based (or OCE print driver based) printstyle that I am working on.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing?
Thanks Again Folks for your Time and Help,
Morning Ivo,
You were correct in the Plotter's Preferences I needed to turn off the "Preview". Once we send it to the plotter now we are committed but if we need to check it out prior to printing we can check it in the Print Organizer Preview feature.
Thanks Ivo,
Hello Lorys,
That is what a number of folks do and it works fine and the Bentley driver directly to the plotter works fine as well but I want to get a better understanding of how to set up a plot driver, print styles, pen tables work so that is why I'm here. I know the plotter works, I know that MicroStation Print works, I know the connection between the two works, but now if I change the driver to the OCE driver what do I need to do to get it to work, and this issue is a stumbling block.
Peace,
but thanks for your reply, nice to know someone is reading it.
I've seen this happen on a CW 300 and can be changed easily within Windows.
From the Windows Start menu go to Devices and Printers.
Right Click the Plotwave and select Printing Preferences.
A screen appears. It is here that you have to disable the Océ pop up at every print by selecting the icon Preview: Don't Show.

cant tell why from your screen shot but try print from pdfs instead...
Look in side your customised pdf.pltcfg or make a copy of pdf.pltcfg. there is an option not to open application in this case pdf after each print ...
As I never print direct to the plotter and only from pdfs which I join together later as a single pdf (via acrobat or bluebeam review) I then send one big fat pdf to printer or plotter once and it batch prints the multiple pages.. plus I only send out pdfs to clients so IMHO its better to print from pdf to see what clients will see...
