Is there a way to not have files copied out multiple times when creating a pset and when printing the pset? This is costing me lots of hours just waiting for the same files to be copied out over and over and over and over again. This can't be working as intended, can it? I know there's plenty of Google results if I search for 'print organizer slow', but I'm interested in knowing if Bentley intends to do anything about it. Or has Bentley given up on this and all the users just have to accept wasted time as part of the print process? As far as I know, this issue has existed for years. And it's been an issue for me for years, but I decided to post this because I had some time to kill - I'm adding 15 sheets to my pset.
I will assume you are using ProjectWise managed workspace. Have you added the variable?MS_PLT_PWWORKSPACE_OPTIMIZATION and set it to a value of 2if all the print definitions in the .pset use the same managed workspace.
can you explain what it does variable do in a little more detail.. does it still copy out all the files, cant it use read only to create plots without checking out all the files?

I had a similar issue with files needing to be copied out for each sheet being printed or added.
Turns out my .pltcfg was pointing to a file on our local server instead of the .pltcfg on ProjectWise. Pointing to the one on ProjectWise vastly reduced my print time.
