Migrating from v8 2004 to XM/SS1. How to config the delivered Bentley HPGL2 driver to send plot files directly to the server's plot que??
uStn: 08.09.04.88
I believe the information provided in this link will help you - https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_printing/w/wiki/9368/9368
BTW, if you still have your old Printer Driver Configuration file, it is compatible with those versions.
I would also encourage you to upgrade to the most current version of MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 10.

Thanks for the link. It answered all but one question. The HPGL driver I have does not have the following line:
default_outFile/auto_overwrite = "\\plotservername\printersharename"
See attached file.

Working toward CE as part of the final goal. Our current production system is 08.05.02.70 v8 2004. I have been working a little bit at a time to re-write the current system to v8i then will move to CE. This system was written in 97 using power draft at the time. It's like a hybrid 2D schematic design system for electrical.
You are correct. We went to the new Printer Driver Configuration format in the V8i (08.09.04.88) version. Although the file is in XML format, I would suggest you use the print dialog box to modify these files. With the provided editor select Base Properties tab, and expand "Default Print File Name". Look for the entry "File Name". Replace $(MS_PLTFILES)$(basename(_DGNFILE))-$(MS_PLTMODELNAME)-<autoInc?digits=3?base=0> with the UNC path for the plotter. MicroStation Help will tell you what are the equivalent values between the .plt and the .pltcfg.
The following Wiki will also help you convert a. plt to .pltcfg - https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_printing/w/wiki/9370/using-microstation-plot-driver-to-create-and-convert-printer-driver-configuration-files
Found the following which answered the final question.
