Description of pltcfg file

Hi folks,

where can I find description of variables and values they can purchase? I tried to search in help but there are differencies in values between pltcfg file stored in MSTN installetion andvalues described in help.

Just an example:

pltcfg file contans:

DefaultLineCap1/DefaultLineCap

but according to help the value should be:

Butt, Flat, Round, Square, Triangle

The XML format of the .pltcfg file is not documented. The printer driver configuration editor presents the available property values in a graphical user interface, and manually editing the ..pltcfg is not recommended.

The MicroStation help attempts to cover both the ..plt file syntax and document the options in the printer driver configuration editor side-by-side. This can be confusing. The values listed under the .plt column generally cannot be copied into a .pltcfg file, and vice-versa. I feel it would have been better had the legacy .plt file syntax been completely separated from the documentation for the new printer driver configuration editor, but that would have resulted in a good bit of redundant information.

That line about "Not all line joins are valid for every device. Refer to the relevant printer driver configuration files for the valid values." does not apply for .pltcfg files; it was a leftover comment pertaining to .plt files. We've already removed that from the help file, along with fixing a few mistakes in the documentation concerning default line caps and joins.
