Hello,
We switched from Bentley MicroStation v8i to latest CONNECT Edition, and now we can't use plotter since we always get error.
On older version everything was working fine but now we can't print with windows driver or any other bentley driver.
Plotter is installed on printserver (HP DesignJet 500) and we can print from any other application normaly.
We have tried to reconfigure pltcfg files by inserting \\printsever\printer and //printserver/printer on all existing drivers (<DefaultPrintFileName>$(MS_PLTFILES)$(basename(_DGNFILE))-$(MS_PLTMODELNAME)-<autoInc?digits=3?base=0></DefaultPrintFileName>) and we allways get error creating print file.
Any suggestions what we could do?
What happens if you use the old .pltcfg from V8i with Connect? They should still work.
On V8i we didn't use any bentley driver for printing, we only selected printer from print server and printed directly. Tried to copy windows print .pltcfg from V8i to Connect but error is the same.
If you select the pdf.pltcfg does that work?
pdf.pltcfg is working fine. on any other we get unable to access windows printer or error creating print file
Sounds to me like it's a problem with the path to the printer. We use \\print server\printername as the screenshot below
Which works just fine. The plp-copiers is the share name in the example.
Path should be ok. All other printers are working normaly. We still receive unable to access printer.
Hmm. Not sure then. The only other thing I can think is that there was a problem with an early build of Windows 10 that caused a similar problem, but that was resolved ages ago.
Hi, again. One upgrade. So i tested second HP DesignJet 500 that we have, and that one is working. The main difference is that it has HP GL2 card and installed network card in it. The first one that is not working, it's connected to network via HP JetDirect 300X and doesn't have GL2 card. I will try tomorow to remove GL2 card form working plotter and install it to first one, so i can check if it's problem with GL2 or JetDirect.
