Unwanted dots appear in pdf when converted from Microstation v8i ss4 dgn

I am using microstation v8i ss4 I get these unwanted dots in pdf when converting the dgn to pdf. These contents were converted from suppliers pdf drawing to dxf and then taken into dgn. When I print the pdf the unwanted dots appear. How can I hide or remove these dots.

In dgn the dots are not visible.

Can anybody suggest me an idea to clean these dots.

  • Not sure if this is of any value, but you can check your pltcfg and see if Print Points is set to True under the Advanced Tab. This option states it is for Pattern Points

Are you able to select these points on the screen? It's hard to tell from the screenshots but I do see what appears to be points in the CADD shot. Maybe they are on a level being controlled by a pen table to print at a heavier weight.

It would be best to supply an actual dgn file with some of these dots.

  • Lorys,

Most of the supplier send their drawings in pdf and they resist to send the dgn or dwg version.

Second, I converted to pdf to dwg using pdf2cad ver 6.5 converter tool developed by visual integrity

  • That may have introduced some unwanted or corrupt elements. Have you used this process before with good results?

Can you attach a sample portion of this drawing? We don't need the whole thing - just a small part that has the problems. If we can play with your actual drawing, we might be able to determine what those spots are made of.
