Big file print problem - new machine

Hello,

When I try to plot a long sheet of paper my MicroStation crashes. I used to plot this all the time and then we updated my machine and now I cant figure this out. Other people in the office can print it on the same setup of machine (version, same comp. specs, etc..) (pdf) so it is possible. This happens with all of my big plots now and I don't know what to check or what to do. All the fonts look good, no missing references, and the imagery looks great. Nothing about the file has changed but this new rebuild of my computer doesn't want to spit out a print.

If there is any other information needed I'll be happy to let you know.

Computer specs:

Xeon 3.5Ghz

16.GB ram

QuadroK2200 Video Card

MicroStation Version: 08.11.09.908 but doesn't work on any version, (multiple versions have been tried)

Thank you so much,

Lucas

  • We use V8iSS4 and I have had similar issues with PO and not able to add any new files to list and crashing after only a few drgs processed and  we have Sophos too and it popped suspicious  error message too.. .but I have worked around this by

    1. going back to Batchplt.ma ( its hidden so you have to key it in

    2. copy the drags to my c: \temp\drgs and  batch print from there  seems to bother the server less and I can batch print 200 drgs no problem

but from sever and PO lucky to do 5 drgs without crash, and if I use Batchpltma on the server  it doesn't  run fast and can crash around 100 files processed...

This is anecdotal so I cant force the errors to happen when IT is watching.. but overall I  found its the best  workaround for me especially  during crunch time and cant go home till its all done and submitted....

I don't know what we'll do when we are  forced into CE as batchplt.ma is definitely  gone in there
