Microstation Connect not printing outline of filled shapes

Hi Everyone, I’m new to the forums – any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated…  We recently changed from an older version of Microstation to Microstation Connect Edition Update 7 – Version 10.07.00.39.    I am using Print Organizer to generate monochrome TIFF images of my DGN graphics.  These DGN graphics contain filled shapes, these shapes reside on level 50.  When I generate the TIFF image from Print Organizer the outline of the filled shapes is not included with the filled inside of the shape on the TIFF image, and I need the outline of the shapes to be included.  The outline of these shapes is line weight zero and is the same color as the filled inside portion.  I was told by Bentley support that I would have to make the color of the shape outline different from the filled inside color in order for Print Organizer to include the shape outline on the TIFF image.  Does anyone know of another way to accomplish this without having to change these colors on my existing DGN graphics?..  We have literally tens of thousands of existing DGN graphics and changing the outline color of all the shapes on all these graphics would be a huge and expensive effort.  Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks

    Thank you for your reply!

I have not tested with update 13..  need to generate TIFF because the image needs to be processed through a publishing engine that requires TIFF..   I haven't tried editing pen table, I'm not familiar with what values or code to edit but would like to know more about it.

I've included a DGN containing the shape and a PDF with some information about it.  Yes it did work with our earlier version, however we used a very old version of MicroStation (Version 5 running on an old Intergraph unix workstation) and generated TIFFs through I-Plot.

I tried the "outline.tbl" but am getting the same result - not showing outline of filled shape.

  • ok you didnt say your  objects were cells my pentable was set to find shapes and change the out line to black, but your chapes in cells are crossing over each other ie arrow head so  we cant  have a black outline...  so I modified the pentable, pentables are easy if you open them thro the plot dialog..

I didnt get andrews explanation, and you would need to make it company  wide ... a pentable if it works is better control..

If you still want it to look good with black outline, you would need to replace all your cells to only have an outside outline no cross overs... in any  case it looks good to me with the dgn you supplied, modified pentable and same color out line to modify I had to add cells to the element  types thro the plot edit pentable gui, then same gui output turn off color 0 as a choice you could always put it back.. now the other thing that could effect this is resolution.. my pdf is 600dpi... your tiff could be lower so you cant resolve the ends detail as clearly...PDF5756.outline.tbl
