What is the difference between a ".pen" pen table and a ".tbl" pen table? Can the ".pen" file be converted to a ".tbl? file?
Julian,
The *.pen (also called a design script) will let you change all sorts of things at plot time. It's from the IPLOT plot system and was built into MicroStation a few years back. The *.tbl is MicroStation's original pentable and not as powerful as the design scripts, it's also simpler to use - you set it up in the resymbolization area of the plot dialog. The *.pen files are text files you edit, so you need to have some idea of what you're doing. My day to day I can use the just *.tbl file. While there is some overlap in what they can do, you can't automatically convert from one to the other
