When I print this file to pdf, the entire page goes is gray. I have only this problem in certain files with reference models but not on all of them.
Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?
try turn off rasterise tick box... any better?

No, It still prints in gray.
ok try this
in view attributes turn off fill, now print if not grey then you have an element that has fill and transparency on...
Go back to view attributes turn off transparency and turn on fill now you should see your grey filled object and you can find and delete it... it may even be in a ref file and somebody was using it to mask things instead of clip masking....
so try turning off xrefs one by one , then levels one by one to find the offending shape.. been there myself..
the problem is the print preview doesn't always reflect the true view attributes when using transparency on fills in xrefs ( v8iss2-4)
