Failure to non-raster plot/preview correctly a Sheet Frame drawing attaching 3D model with Section Cut Plane

Dear sir,

I has experienced the non-raster plotting problem of a Sheet frame when a reference 3D model is shown with Section Cut Plane.

Working Platform: Win10, V8i SS4, default Bentley print driver.

There are 3 nos. same 3D models attached as reference files as shown In the first screen picture. The top 2 models are without Section Cut Plane. Abnormal plotting/preview only occurs when the 3rd model (bottom one) is attached.

The above problem does not exist when the plotting is Raster Plotting.

May I have your advice?

  • the preview is stuffed but the prints are correct yes? Print preview has never been perfect  it doesnt alway show true for me even in 2d with fillls and transparencies ....

Maybe its video card and ram and processing power of the video card or maybe its just meant to be approx... but I've never seen what your showing

  • Dear Lorys,

    Thanks for your reply!

The actual print out is exactly the same as shown in the LHS (first) attached pic i.e. entire pink print out with green opaque circle & black opaque rectangle.

Anyway, I will try to study the case further.

    Kind regards,

  • For not knowing much of anything about 3D section cuts...

Is it possible that what you are looking at can only be printed in a rendered format?

I don't know why that would be, but I've seen stranger things.

Is there any problem with printing your view as rendered? Does that cause any other problems?

  • Dear MaryB,

    Thanks for your experience sharing.

In my case, if the plotting is using 'Rasterized' option i.e. rendered format, everything is plotted out normal.

My reason to study the in 'Non-Rasterized' plotting status in sheet frame:

Using LHS (first) attached pic as example, if the Dgn print out in sheet frame does not need Rendered Mode for the top 2 views but Filled Hidden Line mode only, is there any proper approach to plot out correctly simply by uncheck the 'Rasterized' option.

For information, my aforesaid plotting problem (LHS (first) attached pic) occurs only in sheet frame mode. There is no problem if the plotting is in View or Fence mode.

Hoping my briefing would not cause any further confusion....
