I'm currently using Connect Edition Update 4.
I'm using ProStructures to create my sheet models.
I have a .pltcfg file I attach when printing and in this file the color maps are all set to 0,0,0 (basically plotting everything in black).
I've set my pdf printing preferences to black & white.
As soon as check on Rasterized the preview in my file shows my dimensions, text patterning in color.
(We have assigned color to our dimensions, text and patterning levels just for viewing purposes).
When I save this pdf all the color that was shown in preview window is now in a grey color.
I'm having to use rasterized as it's giving me a more accurate display of my models linework.
Is there some other setting I'm missing so that I can get a monochrome/black and white print?
Hi Nicole,

CE Update 4 of what product? From your text it seems you are using MicroStation CE Update 4 (which is quite old version) and ProStructures.
But I guess you use ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 4, which is internally based on PowerPlatform (MicroStation) CE Update 13?

forgive me but why turn on rasterise, what do you believe does it do for you that you need it on?
I turned my tick box off and use the print prefs to allow features from the rasterize mode like transparency..
send screen shots of all your settings... and I can compare with mine even though I'm using v8i ss4 should be same or at least similar...

Hi Lorys,
typically I don't use rasterize (takes too long to create & large size files) but it seems it makes a difference in some of my prints to pdf.
A setting is wrong somewhere but heck if I know what it is.
Here's an example.
The filled circles you see are placed as a circle, hole, no fill. Print settings without rasterize on.
With rasterize on.
Tried using transparency on these circles but no change, circles still filled.
I've also attached my pltcfg file.MIT_WMS_SDC.pltcfg
If you have some time to investigate that would be great.

So I found the issue with these filled circles. For some reason it has to do with 2 prostructures reference files that I bring into my sheet model.
I need to set the update sequence (set the priority) for these 2 references to be at bottom of list.
Once I did that the circles were no longer filled when printing to pdf.
Thank you for taking the time and posting your fix Nicole. This has just allowed me to fix a similar issue. I ama long term user and had never heard of 'update sequence' before. Jess
Glad to hear it. We use a lot of references in our sheet models, so the update sequence comes in handy.
