I have my pen table set up where it looks good when print at the size created. However if I open the PDF and zoom in the lines are too thick to view.
In Bluebeam and Acrobat there is a setting to turn off the line widths so the file is legible when zooming in.
Is there a setting to control this when creating the PDF so weights are clear when zooming in?
Kirk said: that isn't going to help the client unless they do the same setting in acrobat or Bluebeam.
you just have to educate the client .. maybe a tip in the email if you email pdf... regarding using Acrobat and Control 5, and another great tool I have educated others to use in our office and clients is turning on and use of the loupe tool its just like the jewelers magnifier .. like having two screens and magnifier follows main screen , great for zoom in to title block erc without changing the main view size.. try it you'll love it.. acrobat reader only sorry...
We had to educate clients about layered pdfs why not toggle weights...

Yes, never used Turn Off Line Weights in Acrobat. I can only tell you that you have control over the output thickness thru the plotter file, pen table, etc. The display in the Microstation file is totally independent of that (weight is just a value) and can be controlled thru preferences.
In my world folks are more and more using only the electronic file (PDF), so I make those reflect a printed page. Gave up the old standard, stupid CAD standard color output as weight (worked well in the 80s and 90s). So my CAD file, as well as the output reflects the intended presentation. Or CADland as Reality! Background is white (did not work well with CRTs), black line is, you guessed it, black.

Bob, I have the pen weights assigned in the output by symbology by color. Viewing on the screen and viewing on paper are different. If we were just viewing on screen I would narrow up all my pen widths but we work off of printed drawings and so do our subs in the field.

I Wish Cadland was Reality
Simple would be to create a new pltcfg file and adjust the weights to values appropriate for the anticipated view scale.

Thanks lorys
I have been using the setting in Bluebeam to toggle of line widths off for now. However that isn't going to help the client unless they do the same setting in acrobat or Bluebeam.
