When I attempt to print I select print and instead of the print dialog box. Instead I get a Open dialog box wanting to open a plt file. I have looked through my program files and cannot find the plt file.
Additionally, the other day someone showed me to add MA files I use import in the File menu. It seemed to work the first time, but then stopped. Do I need to save a setting or something? Using v81 10
Hi Sarah,
can you please provide more details? "Using v81 10" tells not too much useful things, because no v81 exists and information about product is missing at all. Do you MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 10)?

What workspace do you use and does this problem exist when you choose another workspace? When MicroStation asks to select .plt file, it looks like some is defined in workspace, but MicroStation is not able to find it. Because .plt (old format) and not .pltcfg (format used in V8i) is mentioned, maybe a workspace, created for older MicroStation, is used?

No .plt files are installed with MicroStation V8i SS10.
Pltcfg files are installed to C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\WorkSpace\System\pltcfg\ folder by default.
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\WorkSpace\System\pltcfg\

Please respect the best practices and do not ask more questions in one post. It's even not about printing. I recommend to ask in MicroStation forum.

Sarah, check if you have the variable MS_DEFAULT_PLTCFG_FILE defined. Usually this is not set to anything, but you can set it to "load" a .plt or .pltcfg file. If that is set, then you will get the error message as MicroStation is trying to find the file defined there.
Remove the appointment, that I believe you will be able to open the dialog.
