DWG to PDF convert using command prompt

I want to convert .dwg file to PDF using command prompt. So I have created key-in script file. When I run it in command prompt only Bentley View application opens after that nothing is happening i.e. PDF file isn't getting generated. Please help to resolve

Bentley View Version

Key-in Script

Command

"C:\Program Files\Bentley\Bentley View CONNECT Edition\BentleyView\BentleyView.exe" -M 1.dwg "-SCONVERTPDF.txt"

  • Two ideas. I don't use script files, so I could be off base, but please humor me.

If you open Bentley View yourself, and enter these commands into the key-in dialog, do you get the PDF output you expect?

Also, I'm not certain that your script is even being seen by View once it's loaded. Usually to run a script, I believe you have to run it through the MSBATCH utility, which can be found in the Help documentation.

  • Key-in script is working using key-in window. When I execute the script file it creates PDF i.e. Output.pdf into desired location.

    Please find the screen shot.

When I am trying to convert this using below command line it is not creating pdf

I am unable to find MSBATCH utility tool in below Bentley Viewer which I am using

  • First problem your trying to do this in Bentley  View.. this is a very cut down or limited function program it DOES NOT have the full functionality of Microstation. I do not believe Bentley  View has the functions for   print organiser,   batch convertor or batch processor. But have you looked in the Help as Mary suggested to see they are available features?

Second your trying to print autocad DWGs to print PDF from Microstation Bentley View this is extremely  bad practice as autocad has completely different  pentables and  colour tables.  you would be better off using TRUE View ( autodesk) which is FREEWARE and can  print pdfs with the acad  pentable...

I don't remember if this can batch  print or PUBLISH command pdf as I only use it  for bulk downgrading acad files to acad 2015 so I can use them later in V8i Full version microstation... but quick google search implies it can see here

    https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/dwg-trueview/batch-plotting/td-p/4306098

    https://www.cad-notes.com/do-you-know-that-you-can-plot-using-trueview/#:~:text=it's%20plotting%20ability.-,Batch%20plot%20ability,consider%20using%20AutoCAD%20layout%20now.

So if it does't work for you in FREE True view, and doesn't work in low cost Bentley View.. then either PAY for Full version Microstation, or  full version Autocad or if you can't  afford those then BUY Briscad its very modest priced autocad clone and can batch print acad files to pdf as long as you know what the pentables from the acad originator used or modified then you can do fair reproduction to PDF
