In PO, tools, define print styles, on the Display tab the boxes have 3 choices:
solid, empty and check
what is the different between the 3?
thanks!
If checked, that means the attribute option is turned on.
If there is a solid filled in block the attribute is, As set in file.
If blank solid the option is turned off.

thanks...what file?
The file that you are printing. Think of it as an Attributes override. You could have Construction lines displayed in your drawing as you are viewing it on the screen. Instead of turning them off on screen and then printing, you can just have Construction lines set to not plot in the print attributes. That way you do not accidentally plot the construction lines.
