Large PDF multiple pages files when using pdf.pltcfg with Print Organizer

HI,

sorry if this problem have been already discussed, but can't find it on the forum.

if so, could anyone drop a link for me? thanks.

If this the first time, hope some can help me.

i need quite often to create a multiple pages PDF files from various drawings, in the project i am working at the moment it's in the order of 30 different drawing, some with more than 1 sheet.

the whole process with print organizer and pdf.pltcfg work fine, with the only exception that the result is a huge file, usually 10 times bigger than if i was to create it but producing single PDF with the Adobe PDF virtual printer and then collate them with Professional.

i haven't done it, yet, for this project but it could easily end up being around 25 MB.

which makes it a very difficult file to manage, and to send over via email.

i am pretty sure that there are variables within the pdf.pltcfg i can play with to solve the problem, but don't know wich ones.

any helps?

thanks

Massimo

  • Have you tried reducing the file size? You need a full version of Adobe to do this but it's Document > "Reduce File Size..."

Another thing you could try changing is the Adobe Version of the file. I don't recall what the default is but try setting it to the newest version in your .pltcfg file.
