i have been reading these forums to find this answer (Create single print files like the .ini on V8i) and tried many differnet ways to get this to work. i am not using the .pset files beacuse it needs a file name associated with it. i need to have a way to create a file(like the .ini file in V8) that users can load and use on the print window. i cannot use the .pset files beacuse we change our file names everytime we make changes, so that would be way too much print organizing everytime. can someone please help with this. if you need more info just ask. i am puzzled on how to get this to work.
Try looking at print styles. They can be stored in DGNlibs and accessed from the print dialog to print any sheet.
i tried the print syles already. can design scripts make what i want? i'm trying to find a good example on how to make one. is there anyone out there that can help me with that?
Tim,
Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? Print Styles are used to set the default print settings so that each time you open the Print or Print Organizer it will use those print settings. Design scripts are for changing the actual appearance of the plot. If you give me more info into what your goal is I should be able to help you out.
thanks!
Jo Terri
Hi Tim,
If you set a default Print Style it will automatically set the Print dialog to those settings. Alternatively you can apply a Print Style to the print dialog by choosing Settings Apply Print Style. This will then use a different set of Print properties. This should be similar to choosing a different Print ini files to set properties of the print dialog.
OH my God! that may be the answer i am looking for! i will let you know the results once i make some more print styles and post the results here!
