Microstation v8i Printing

Question

Hi experts, 
 
 Anyone can tell me how to print by selecting an object or area instead of using the fence command? 
 For example I created a square that covers my drawings and I want to print the drawings inside that square. Instead of using the fence command, I want to just click the square and select print. 
 Can anyone help me with this one?

If there's only one square or shape of that type on your drawings (or if you can make it distinct), then you can use a pen table and tell it to plot a "shape" of XX color and XX linestyle and weight on XX level. Then you never need to even click the object. It will find it and plot it. Or you can plot the contents of multiples of the same shape if you have it in different locations. It can also be inside of a reference file, as a rectangle on your border limits.

 put this keyin either in a F key of your x 5 button of 5 button mouse 
 place fence element;%D;DIALOG PLOT;PRINT DRIVER printer_col.PLT;print fullsheet 
 it will then let you click on the element of th outside boundary and brings up the plot tool with your fence already set by the element clicked on ..for full discussion of all features of this see below .... 
 I even have one keyin set to just make pdfs this way .. save a minute per print session but as I print 10x or more a day then saves about an 1hr a week which works out at 1 week per year of gained productivity.. 
 My philosophy is if you do something a lot or often and its always the same action then make a button, or an F key or a macro... and share it with your work mates....
