Missing Raster References in PDF from Print Organizer (Ss3)

I have a set of Plan over Profile sheets that have Mr. Sid files attached. When I use the plot driver in MicroStation, the preview shows the raster files. When I use the driver in Print Organizer, neither the preview nor the output shows the raster files.

This same pset file worked a few days ago. This is maddening!

  • I can only try it with the files I have. I am in production with some tight deadlines, so my responses might be delayed.

I also determined that when I do not use Rasterize, the following occur:

    • I can control the display order of my raster files vs vector files.
    • The irregular clip boundaries of my reference files are ignored for the raster files, instead they appear to use the smallest rectangular boundary they would encompass the clip boundary. All of the reference files (vector and raster) come from nesting to a single reference file, clipped by an element. However, the rectangular clip of the raster files behaved the same way when a fence was used to define the boundary.
    • Toggling on Rasterize removes the ability to control the display order of raster vs vector, but fixes the clipping issue.

Again, these issues occur in PowerCivil for North America, Ss2 most current version.

The missing raster files occur when I move to MicroStation Ss3. I have not tested this with any other Power products. Since the raster files do not plot, I cannot confirm any of these other issues.

  • We are having the same problem.

    I am in SS3 08.11.09.536.

I am trying to plot a TIFF from a pset.  It will plot as an individual file using MicroStation Printer; however, if I attempt to plot it using Print Organizer, the TIFF does not show up.

  • There are a couple known raster printing issues from Print Organizer when other applications are installed, such as Descartes and Inroads. Take a look at MicroStation’s ….config\appl folder. If msgeo.cfg and\or dcartes.cfg exists, temporarily move them out of appl, restart MicroStation, and then test Print Organizer. Please reply with results, I’ll follow-up with Trouble Report numbers if this is your problem.

  • Todd, looks like the original poster hasn't answered yet but I can tell you I was having the same issue. Removing msgeo.cfg and dcartes.cfg from the appl folder fixed the problem. Hopefully you can come up with a solution that doesn't require moving cfg files though.

    Thanks,

    Ben

  • Ben,

We have seen this symptom when Descartes and Inroads are installed together and when Bentley Map and Descartes or GEOPAK are installed together. The workaround for the Descartes \ Inroads configuration is to remove dcartes.cfg from the appl folder. The workaround for the Bentley Map \ Descartes or GEOPAK configuration is to remove msgeo.cfg from appl. The conflict or problem appears to be with the application’s (Descartes, Inroads, Map, GEOPAK) subsystem not working correctly in non-graphics mode. When Print Organizer prints, it starts a separate 'ustation.exe' in the background (non-graphics) to print the plot.  There appears to be a problem with these applications not functioning correctly in this context. I suggest posting to the application’s forum or using the application’s support channels to find a solution, if the workarounds are introducing a problem with the way you use the application.

  • Hi.

Do you have any new info on this problem? I have installed the latest InRoads version (.674), and the workaround is still required.

What I don't quite understand is what happens if I don't move the cfg-files back after plotting.

Is there any support tickets that I can follow on this case.
