Microstation V08.11.07.443 Print Organizer problems

The problem that I am having is this; I have three separate files with multiple sheets of cross sections covering different areas of our project. When I add the three files to the .pset file either at the same time or at different times the files that were loaded first get their plot parameters changed. i have print style set up that finds all the fence definition shapes and this works fine as long as I add only one file but as soon as i add an additional file the first sheets are adversely affected.

I had a word doc to attach but it errored out I don't know if it was because I have images the clipped into it or not but above is the text w/o the images.

The first file has the “A” Suffix, the second file has the “M” Suffix and the third file has the “S” Suffix notice the difference in the pen table (the URS_Print_Pen_22x34.tbl is the correct one as set in the Print Style File) while this could be lived with the real problem is hidden in the fact that now all the “A” and “M” sheets are the same cross section sheet, the first one found in their respective files.

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix. We do this quite often on our projects; we will have a few files with multiple cross sections sheets in the same file in the same model but would like to be able to print them all at the same time. I know that all I have to do is print them separately and then collate the pdf after the fact but it would be nice to be able to make it all in one step.

Also I have set up .pset files with multiple folders for different volumes and sup-sets in the volumes to help with organizing my projects and have the problem with the changing Pen Table. It seems to just grab a default Pen Table file rather than using the Pen Table designated in the Print Style File. And this only happens after I add a new file or group of files.

  • Unfortunately your attached documents are not here.  I believe you are defining a printer driver configuration file in your print style.  Could you remove it and then try again?  You may also think about upgrading to MicroStation SS3. This version allows you to create variable print definitions when design files are added to Print Organizer. Variable print definitions improve flexibility and performance in some workflows by deferring discovery of models and print shapes to print time.
