How to: Resymbolization using Pen Table to change Line Weight in Print

    Background

You might often find that you receive drawings where all lines are the same line weight. Instead of going through the pain of changing all the individual elements you can with ease use Resymbolization in a custom Pen Table to assign specific line weights to selected line styles.

    Steps to Accomplish

Step 1: In MicroStation > File > Print > Resymbolization

Step 2: Create a New Pen Table

Step 3: Name your New Pen Table and Save it.

Step 4: Choose your Element Selection Criteria.  In this case I chose Levels but you can also define Elements by Type alone or combined with Weight or Color. You can be as specific or as general as it suits you.

Step 5: Choose your Element Output Actions. In this case I chose Weights as I only needed to create a nice Black & White print.

Step 6: Save your Pen Table settings and close the dialog.

Step 7: Choose your newly created Resymbolization Pen Table and test the print.
