When plotting to an HP5550 laserjet printer on 11X17 paper, the plots will not come out to the correct scale. They are always slighty smaller. For example, when trying to print at 1"=40' the plot may come out at 1"=39.75'. Printing from Microstation and pdf files with no success.
This is a known issue with laser printers which have an accuracy of ~2% in the paper flow direction of the paper flow. If you check the accuracy of the plot across the width of the paper its dead on.
Our delivered PRINTER.PLTCFG has a record "Scale Adjustment Factor" under the "Advanced" property under "Base Properties" to compensate for inaccurate printer output. This record specifies a scale factor to apply to geometry after it is generated by the print engine. For example, if you request an 11 x 17 inch print, but the printer produces an 11.0 x 16.8" print, you can specify a scale adjustment factor of (1.0, 1.0119) to increase the scale of one axis of its output. The default is 1, 1.
