UV mapping in new Connect version?

Guys,

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the SIG last week.

Did Jerry talked about UV mappings as a new option in Connect ?

  • I'm starting to be quite upset about the lack of proper uv mapping tool I could understand this happening somewhere till SS2 but its been such a looong while since the new rendering engine was introduced that lacking such a BASIC tool is starting to smell fishy. I really spected this to be introduced finally in Connect, I would have made the effort to move to connects ribbon style interface( I really dislinke this layout) if proper uv tools where pressent but not even this time. MS now does even have a realtime visualization tool that aquired from a third party, another reason why to have a proper tool so you attlas your textures for performance improvement. Another tool that is totally neccesary and hope that bundles with the uv tool that somewhere in 2045 is a uv mapping that follows an spline, as in 3dmax, supporting planar, cubic and cilindrical mapping (ideal for mapping kerbs, pavement detailing and any other linear stuff). Moving models back and forth from MS to 3dmax is a real mess. By the way. moving objects from real world coordinates to 3dmax requires a coordinate shifting because 3dmax does not work well with big coordinates (floating point stuff), adding an option in dwg export to set ACS as the man CS would help so that there is no theed to GO= in the DWG file an then re-export...
