Fixed animation spotlight following a target

the answer is yes, make a hierarchy, and then it is animation as others

Hi Karol, thanks for responding,

I tried to figure it out , but I can´t manage it. When I attach the Spotlight to the target, the Spotlight is moving with the target but it needs to be fixed.

I have attached the dgn. You see 3 spotlights, the direction of the first one in the row needs to follow the target (which is following a path)

i send you with new light which is rotating to target ,

you have not to direct to target / as you see my spot with drection down

you forgot script target , spot to target , that is all

look on result , i hope it is what you want

Hi Karol, I can reproduce it, but I don't understand why the spotlight can not be pointed to the target, why has the spotlight be pointed downwards? Does that mean that I cannot use the spotlights which are already in my scene and pointed to the right direction?

first_ I hope that .dgn or the spotlight works what you want
second _ I suppose that as target as spotlight must be in the same coordinate system
third _ in animator preview is spotlight pointed right on target in every frame
fourth _ spotlight is only light , reflector as body is separate element and separate problem with right orientation
at the end I am only a little bit experienced user , probably Bentley knows real answer :-)

Hi Karol, yes the .dgn with your changes works for me, now I understand what I did wrong.

I didn't know that as target as spotlight has to be in the same coordinate system
