Hi,
I would like to know what the optimal configuration of computer for Microstation V8i 3D, for 3D use and realistic renderings.
It is not intended to design a complete plant in detail, but simply a few technical premises, followed by a realistic rendering.
We have an envelope dedicated to this purchase between 3000 € and 3500 €.
I received a first estimate, here are the main elements :
- Xeon E5-1650V3
- RAM 40Go
- SSD 256Gb + HDD 1To
- Quadro K2200 - 4Go DDR5
- Windows 7 pro
To your opinion, is that enough?
Sorry for my English ... I'm french boy ;)
Thank you !

I wonder if you need *anything* special for MicroStation these days ... even latest Gen Intel Graphics on CPU can handle 3D to an extend that you get your way.

Really? Let's wait for other users advice. But maybe it's better to get a middle-of-the-road average PC for less than 1000 EUR (excluding monitors) and replace it in 2 years by another, improved one. Right now MicroStation does not need high end hardware. Maybe a new feature is needed with some next versions - and then you have budget left to buy another PC to match it. And yet another one.
