Hello,
i have installed Microstation Connect SS4 with compability for using STM functions and exporting to LumenRT.
I have a large a STM draped with a photo (several km long railroad), using the STM in Connect SS4, the quality is amazing, and i would like to export this to a LumenRT model, i dont need exaclty as good quality, but a fair quality.
When Exporting to LumenRT, the quality is only good where i am at for the moment, the rest of the model becomes in "bits an pices" with low quality.
I suspect there should be some kind of function, to set a quality before exporting from Connect SS4 to LumenRT? So that the whole model i shown in a fair quality.
Is this possible?

Hi David,
just to clarify, I think you mean Microstation Connect Edition Update 4
Because there is no Connect Edition called SS4 (Select Series 4)

Hi David
You need to attach or assign the material to the surface (I prefer attach as its usually a one-off thing).
I notice that in the element properties mine still says 'Attached = none':
But as you can see it is clearly there. Make sure the drape is checked on both the raster file and the STM itself like this:
When you change the display to smooth you should see the image on your surface.

maybe my wiki article could help you to use the dcdrape function: https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/10792.draping-a-raster-file-on-a-solid-or-dtm
An STM uses it's own method of draping. While it is similar to DCDrape it is specifically for STM use.
Here's where you'll find instructions on STM raster image draping in the Descartes Help.

Hey Wendy,
Your STM model looks great! I'm trying to do the same thing myself...however, as you can see below, when I turn my model to smooth rendering, the image shifts for some reason...(You'll see that in the wireframe model, the buildings line up with the holes perfectly, while in the second image they don't). Is there a step I might have missed?
Thanks,
Josh
