Distributed rendering for animation

Hello, I'm in a time pinch and trying to get distributed rendering for an animation to work at our office but am not having any luck. Is there a tutorial available? the help files aren't very clear.

Thanks,

Kevin

  • Ok, we did manage to finally get the distributed rendering to work, but now I have another issue with the Process Controller for Distributed Rendering program. I can launch this program just fine, but when I try to launch the Scheduler nothing happens. The Job Monitor launches correctly and the window pops up, but the Scheduler window goes into a permanent minimized state that won't pop up no matter what I try. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Microstation and the Visualization Content, but that didn't help. Any ideas as to what is causing this behavior? The scheduler works on our other workstations just fine.

    Thanks,
    Kevin
  • Update, figured out the Scheduler problem. Had to go to Task Manager in Windows, right click on Scheduler and click on Maximize, then the program finally popped up.

  • Basically, if the program sits in the tray, but you cannot find the window, it is most likely that the window is out of the visible area of the screen. I know that kind of glitch in the Windows. So to get to the running program (window) is possible through the task manager, as you did.
    well done.
or when we know that program is active current app (the app window, suppose to have a focus), then you could use old trick - Alt+Space, that calls single click on the window left upper corner menu. This menu will popup regardless the window is not visible. There are usual options for normal windows applications: move, maximize, minimize, size, restore - those commands to manipulate with window by the keyboard (arrow keys).
