Hi,
i want extrude a smart line to a pipe. In CE Update 4 is it not possible to extrude it, in my case. There are some different settings in the tool (Solid by extrusion along path) than V8i. What i´m doing wrong?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks, Marc
Hi Nilesh,
in that case, there is only a path, no profile. (The mint green circle in the previous image is only a cylinder in the topview).
The problem is, that the tool "extrusion along path" is different in V8i and CE.
My opinion is, that you need in V8i only a path to create a pipe (see settings in the attached image). But in CE you need a path and a profile to create a pipe. That´s not an advantage.
Is this true or is there a way to create a pipe without a profile in CE?
Marc
V8i: With this settings you can create a pipe from a path with a radius at 0.02m.
CE: With that setting is it not possible to create a pipe. I think you need a profile. It´s a disadvantage.
Hi Carl,
our goal is that we want to create a pipe without a profile. Only with a path.
Is there a way with the tool "solid by extrusion along path" like in V8i? In V8i it function. In CE not, or?
Hi Marc,
Until we get this added to our parametric solids from the ribbon search type in tool and then click on Tool Boxes there you will see a list of tool boxes you want the Legacy Solids Tools it will have the tool you used in V8i.
Cheers,
Jerry
