Hallo everybody, since I've upgraded to windows 10 I can't open any Skp (sketchup ) files!Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks.
Thank you for that Jerry. I've successfully downloaded :https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/ub758428b-00a2-400c-92f4-33f5144c2bee/Huerto-ecologico-terraza
but when I try to open it with MicroStation I get the message above.
We are always a little behind these guys they change every year, try downloading older version like 2015 that worked for me.
Cheers,
Jerry
Depends ....how did you get SS3 installed? If you are on SELECT you can download and install the latest version which is MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 6. https://www.bentley.com/en/support
I got it from school on a USB stick, Licensed for academic use .
Jorge, which school do you currently attend? (Please reply with Full name and location)
Schools with a subscription to our Academic SELECT subscription have access to over 50 products for installation in classrooms and labs--including the latest version of all products included in the Academic suite.
Also included is free access to STUDENTserver, enabling students to download and install software on their personal machines (licensed for Academic use), and also access on-Demand training, get completed training transcripts and certificates, and access our Academic community on Bentley Communities.
I'm not sure why your school is distributing older software on a USB.
If you supply your School name and location, a team member can help you further. Thank you!
Thank you for that Laura.
I finished my study already 3 years ago. At the time the software was handed over to students in a usb stick in order to be installed in our computers. I understood that the software version I was given then was the latest version available.
I believe this was a correct procedure.
I was given no MicroSation certificate though when I received my diploma.
Jorge, your solution is simple - you cannot import SKP files in SS3 with Win 8.1 / 10
It is problem with some kind of DLL in windows, that Microstation uses for importing SKP files. Solution - move to SS4 or ConnectEdition. Or go back to Win7 to work with SS3 and import SKP files.
Another option: install SketchUp on your machine - pen SKP file - export in to DWG, and import DWG into Microstation.
I know - not the quickest way, and I would prefer that Bentley give a patch for SS3 to resolve ncopatibility issues; but... Bentley already moved on to SS4 and CE.
