Hi,
I have terrain in LumenRt created from scalable tarrain model. There is existing railway. I wand trains to go along tracks. Hoever after publishing to Live Cube trains are jumbing. I guess it is due to terrain irregurality. I created dummy smooth surface just above terrain/ Then trains go as desired. However I would like to make this dummy surface to be invisible to users but "visible" to trains. If I turn off layer with this dummy surface, trains start to jump again. Must say jumping trains is sth wired.
Is it possible? Thanks for your tips.
Hi Adam,If you create the train using the traffic tools in MicroStation they will follow your dummy surface and not be effected by the terrain irregularities.
I demonstrated how to create a train using the MicroStation traffic tools during the Nov. 2016 Visualization SIG. Here's a link to the SIG videos.

I tried that but have no LumeRT cell for microstation. My understanding is, that if I want to export traffic I need LumenRT cell for microstation. Train is missing in the library, only cars available. Never the less even the cars are static after export. It looks I need to spend more time with your SIG recording.
Best,

Hi Ron,
there is no need to use only LumenRT cell.

Hi Adam,You will need to make your own train cells for use as MicroStations traffic.
You need to export each cell to .vob format using MicroStation Connect Edition. Vob is the native format used in Vue from e-on. If you change the extension from .vob to .lob, then LumenRT can use it.
The MicroStation cells must be named with the following format:LRT_Vehicles_filename (Replace filename with the name of the lob file)
By naming the cell this way, the LumenRT Export command knows what the replacement .lob file is named, and where to find it.
For example, for a cell named LRT_Vehicles_BNSF Locomotive you will export the cell as BNSF Locomotive.vob and then rename it to BNSF Locomotive.lob.
Place all of the .lob files in the following location:C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Bentley LumenRT CONNECT Edition\LumenRT Content\LumenRT\Vehicles\Transportation
This location might vary based on the name of the version of LumenRT that is installed.
With all of this done, you should be able to setup the traffic in MicroStation using your train cells and export it to LumenRT.
Ron, thanks a lot.
