I have a VISSIM ani.txt file I am trying to export with a 3D Microstation SS4 model to LumenRT Connect Edition. I have confirmed that the coordinates match between the DGN and the VISSIM txt file. When I export to LumenRT, there are no vehicles and no evidence the export was successful. The Microstation model comes in as expected, but no vehicles are displayed. I have looked around the environment to see if vehicles are displaying elsewhere and they are not.
I can create traffic animations within Lumen and vehicles display as expected.
I do not know python but wonder if the VISSIM2Lumen script is potentially outdated for the conversion to Connect edition?
Thank you,
David

How have you confirmed that the coordinates match? If the VISSIM data is not based on the same coordinates as the actual roadway design you must figure out the appropriate offsets (in meters) which would align the VISSIM links with the actual roadway and then enter them into the Offset fields at the time of export to LumenRT.
The VISSIM model is based on the same coordinates as it was built from both the channelization plan and the tin files produced from the design. Additionally, the coordinates for the vehicle trajectories are in the ani.txt file and they match the coordinate vicinity of the 3D model. We are able to import/export between VISSIM and Microstation consistently with the same project coordinates. As stated in the post above, I attempted to move the model closer to 0,0,0 and used the offset fields to move the VISSIM animation to the same location. This did not solve the issue.
Hi Mara,
As previously stated when I uploaded the files, I have already attempted the export with a model moved to 0,0,0. I applied the same coordinate offsets to the VISSIM ani.txt file during the export process and the resulting LumenRT scene still lacks any vehicle animation. Moving to 0,0,0 did not solve the issue.
I will upload a new file with the model at the origin and the VISSIM model offsets to match.
The files have been uploaded. Again, I really appreciate your time.
Hi David,
thanks for upload the file.
I was able to import the VISSIM traffic:
The only thing I have noticed, that after 15/20 sec the cars disappears suddenly.
I need to save the *.lrt file, close and re-open again to see all the cars. It could depend about the *.ani.txt file.
regards
Mara
Thanks Mara,
I see that you have Microstation SS4 in your snapshot. Can you send me the version number?
Microstation SS4 (08.11.09.829)
