Using connect U7 at the moment but same behaviour in other versions. When I apply a display style with colour overrides to create a white model, transparent elements display in the view, but do not render with transparency??
Hi Duncan,
can you please share the model or the sample you have show in the images. can we also have a copy of the display style and render settings you have set

Thanks Brendan,

The display style Black & White Hidden line is contained within the file.
render settings are Active lighting, Physical Sky and Exterior Best.
There is also a drawing rule that I created called untitled which applies transparency to my window glazing level. when this is applied it allows the transparency to render. ??
HI Duncan and All
Yes Nilesh is correct you have spotted a defect. I asked for the files because I vaguely remembered doing something similar via a different method.
I have been able to generate the attached images by:
1. setting the display style to wireframe.
2. applying level overrides where everything was set to colour 0 and the glass layer had a transparency set.
I used your render settings but added the white background to the physical sky environment.
Hope this helps
Thanks Brenden,
We have used the override method for years. However, we are trying to develop more efficient rendering and plotting workflows that can enable us to utilise overrides for other drafting purposes, like distinguishing reference information from each other.
Alternatively.
1. swtich off or dont use level overides.
2. change yoyr Black and white hidden line style to a Shaded view.
3.in the display style overrides set the element overide to colour 0 and weight to 0
4. set the background colour to 0
5. in edge settings switch on visible edges set them,to colour 0 and weight zero
6. Render as normal
I will dm email your files back with the display callled Black and white shaded.
You can accomplish this by putting the transparent objects in a reference file and setting the presentation in the reference dialog to be wireframe rather than from parent which is the default. If you set the display style to be monochrome and render with Luxology the glass that is referenced will render as if the display style were wireframe so transparency, color, reflections all will work and the main model will honor the monochrome style or overrides if you are using those.
Cheers,
Jerry
