Hi All
I have just installed Update 3 of LumenRT (From Update 1) and am experiencing some issues. Firstly, when the model exports from Microstation CE, only a cube shows up in the lumen file. Any suggestion?
Also, I am not able to set the scene to day time. I cam change the settings, but the sky remains dark and the stars stay in place, day or night. They do change when I adjust the settings, but they remain on in daylight hours. I have tried both with and without geographic location, same issue. If I play with the settings in the 'Caribbean" sample scene it works ok, just not in this file.
Looking forward to hearing some ideas, folks!

OK, I have upgraded to the latest AECOSim and managed to export the model. There seem to be problems with materials - I cannot export attached/assigned materials, except those assigned by the dataset in AECOSim. When I attach them in LumenRT, it slows the scene down so much - it is taking 45 minutes to save the file. I can't afford the time to save, and I can't afford not to!
Problem solved and animation delivered!
Upgrading to Update 3 of LumenRT solved several issues (flicker in the frames, crawling materials and others). Upgrading to AECOSim CE Update 2 allowed me to export the entire project model, although it did take up most of the 64GB of RAM! Issues I experienced after that seem to have been caused by a problem with the operating system - I turned off all background processes including Windows Explorer to create and save the animation.
I did find that the keyframes behaved rather strangely though - in some cases I was not able to delete them from a clip and in others they changed camera view rather than deleting... very odd.
Having said that, the timing of animated objects during the replay of the animation is now much more consistent than before - one no longer needs to re-open the file to get the objects in the right place in the video.
If anyone on the development team is listening, being able to turn off an animation rather than loop or repeat it would be very helpful. I found I have to be quite clever with my camera angles so that vehicles and people I used in other views don't pop up around the corner!
Lessons learned:
Thanks for the advice
hi Wendy,
can you post some pictures to compare with old ones?
animation in LRT is little bit tricky, it could be fine improve work with camera and movie editor both need to be more precisely and to be in separate windows also, idea for DevTeam :-)
