Can anyone explain what causes the material to go all funny if the camera is off. It the camera in the view is On...the material is fine.
It doesn't matter which Display mode is used.
I have seen material go haywire like this before if the model is drawn far away from 0,0,0 regardless of the camera setting. But this model is drawn at 0,0,0.
I opened the model in both V8i & Connect version of AECOsim and it's the same.
With camera Off
With Camera On
I suspect your view point is a long distance from the subject. You can check this with the keyin SHOW CAMERA LENS.
You're a long way from your subject if you get results like this: Camera Lens : -2147483648 MM, Field of Vision: 0 degrees.
This is the actual result from a file I recently created. You don't realize there is a problem until you see the numbers or something renders oddly.
It should help if you redefine your camera with CAMERA SETUP.
Hi Ron,
You might have misunderstood...The problem occurs when the camera is "OFF"...so adjusting the camera setting will automatically turn the camera back "On"...which defeats the purpose.
Regarding your camera settings, I usually use a projection of "Two Point" with a "Normal" Lens.
Thanks,

I found what was causing this...Although this project was in V8i, I opened the model in Connect to quickly attach and view a Bing map.
When re-opened in V8i where it was not supported, it apparently had this adverse affect. Weird, but after removing the attachment, the materials display was corrected.
