Hello everyone!
Good day! I am a student working on a Project using Microstation software (Version: V8i Select Series 3) and facing a little problem.
My project involves a warehouse, trucks, and forklifts. I am trying to Animate some of the objects (eg. Truck, Forklifts etc) to move about and do a specific task, but I am facing difficulties in making them move. Preferably not trying to use LumenRT software for this. I would prefer to use the Microstation's Inbuilt Animation function.
I was told that it can be done frame by frame. Is there any tutorial I can follow to help me with this problem and learn?
If there is another method of making an object move about (e.g. Forklift carrying items from one location to another) please do let me know.

Hi, try to read about basic principals of the animation. Then it will be easier for you to implement the idea.
As you understand the view is your camera. Any object in your scene is either static object or moving objects. If the object is moving then easiest option is to set it up as an actor. Then you could manipulate the actor to achieve what you need in your animation. Key frame approach is simple way of the animation.

You do not need to keyframe every single frame one by one. Just create a situation A and a situation B. Then have the animation producer merge between the two situations along frame 0 to frame N. You can have objects move, scale, rotate or have surfaces deform within keyframes.You can create an animation script for each item seperatly (truck, forklift, car, birds) to move, scale and rotate as desired. Then import those into a master animation script wher you can use them over and over again. You cannot use multiple scripts that contain camera's since those can contradict.Some other ways to animate:Move actor or camera along a path. Draw a linestring, attach an actor to beginning of string, then let this actor follow path during frame 0-100.Move actor or camera parametric. Move according to mathematical equation. e.g. x=2*frame.Keyframe actor or camera between positions.
