I have a material assignment created in Microstation with Cast Shadows switched off.
LumenRT does not seem to inherit this attribute and insists on casting a shadow for all geometry. Can this be switched off?
Thanks,
Max
Microstation: 08.11.09.829 - LumenRT: 16.50.23.89
Can you share the files you are working with?
I've tested on my end believe I have been able to replicate the issue.
I'll investigate the issue to see if this is working as designed.
In MicroStation did you disable the Cast Shadows property in the Material property.
Thanks David - I've moved on from that project, but the attached file will demonstrate the problem that I'd like to have solved in the future.
Yes, Cast Shadows is switched off but LumenRT still (incorrectly) projects a shadow.

A bump on this, please. Attached file as requested.
Thanks.
Another bump...
In case anyone is still following this thread, or needs the solution in future;
Bentley Support eventually came up with a fairly elegant solution; Change the Material Type in LumenRT to Glass, with Transparency = 0%. This will create an opaque material that doesn't project shadows.
Ideally, there should be a setting in LumenRT's Material Properties> Project Shadows> On/ Off.
