Hello,
After I export a scene from CityEngine to LumenRT and I save my work in LumenRT I can't re-open the scene, as the file is corrupted. I tried to "save as" to make a copy and both files results corrupted. Is this something anyone else has experienced? Is there any known issue about it, or a solution?
Thank you in advance,
Natan Micheletti
Hello Natan,
what is file size after saving ? ,
How complex is your dataset,
If possible will you please share your CityEngine file so i can reproduce issue.
will you please share Machine specifications as well.
Thanks & Rg

Hello Harshad,
The file is very big: 9 GB. The dataset is also quite complex, the area is 36 squared km with a 2m resolution DTM with a 1m orthophoto texture (splitted in 4 adjacent squares, hence 8 rasters in total) and various objects (7000 LOD2 buildings, a road and railway network, a couple of thausand realistic trees and some more).
BUT if I export without the trees, then the LRT is only 2.2 GB and it works perfectly.
I am just passing the threshold of what's manageble in terms of file size? I suspect that the file gets corrupted in the saving process because it is too heavy.
My solution at this point would be to export without the trees and the add them manually in LumenRT. Is there a workaround for instance modelling in LumenRT? If I export the location of the trees as small dots, then it would be cool to say "all these dots receive a tree". I can add trees manually of course, but it would be more tedious.
Also, given the issue that I had with trees rendering in the export, not bringing them from CE seems a good idea.
Thank for your help,
Regards
Natan
Im having the same issue with a microstation export... exports fine but after saving it gets corrupt. any resolution?
I've received no further help nor informations. At this point, I still believe that the issue is the file size, passing the threshold of 8 GB the file gets corrupted, hence the only solution I found is to work with smaller scenes or omit objects/details.
How large is your file?
Sorry for late reply
Yes, its due to large file. generating preview and saving full graphical data consume lots of GRAM (graphics memory)
and result into corruption of file , and lrt wont able to load full geometry when we try to reopen saved large file.
