Another Problem with alpha with saving multi Layers:

Hallo,

a while a go we reported problems with the "save Layers" function  and it was a defect. Here is the link.:

https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/microstation_visualization/f/visualization-forum-1977638070/167182/heavy-bug-in-connect-edition-save-layers-doesn-t-work-properly

Unfortenately we recognized now, that there are other problems as well, while saving multiple Layers.

As an example the quality of the alpha channel is a desaster. it is much worse, than saving it directly. At the moment  the only way  to get a correct output of all levels in connect Edition Update 10  is to save Layer by Layer!!! By the way then alpha works fine. Than it´s super high quality. Can this be true? Hopefully Bentley look after this. Probably it´s not much work to correct this. But Alpha Channel is so important. It has to work.

I have attached you a picture, where you can see the problem. the fourth picture is the one, which is saved with "save Layers".

What do you think about it?

Thanks

Gerd

  • Here I have another example, where you can see the problem better:

This Alpha Channel is saved directly. This quality is super!!

This Alpha Channel is saved automatically via "save Layers" dialog. You see the big difference in the railing. This one we cannot use.

Please Bentley, we spent a lot of time to locate this problem. Please take it serious. Alpha Channel is the most important pass for professional visualizer. We have also find other problems while automatically "save Layers" par example the saving of "illumination direct" doesn´t work properly. But in the case of "illumination direct" it has to do something with the brightness. Probably we will report this aftwerwards.

Hopefully this will improve very soon. It´so important!!
