I'm trying put together a build to submit to my company to replace all our computers. We use Connect for 3D rendering.
Our current machine are 4.5yr old Dells with
dual XEON 2.5GHz (12 core)
32gb Ram
Nvidia k5200 8gb
SATA HDD
Since Connect - We cant multitask as well as previous versions (if rendering computer is maxed out)
We may move away from Dell workstations to use i9 instead of Xeons based on research, online and speaking with IT pros. Looking at Main Gear and Falcon NW as options.
Im looking for recommendations on what components works best for CONNECT.
Processor: Intel vs AMD as far as utilizing MS Connect
if Intel (i9 vs Dual Xeon)
Ram: I know more is better but for MS Connect , is there a max # that it can utilize.
Graphics: I understand Connect does not use GPU for rendering. Is there plans to do so? Should I take it into consideration.
Drives: Will be using SSD this time.
Thank You

Hi,
There are some technologies coming in Connect. PBR Material display in shaded views and path traced rendering which will make use of the GPU, so I would certainly consider specifying an good GPU with your systems.
Thanks
