I have just been asked an interesting question by a user.
Is there a way in Microstation to produce an alert(like a pop-up or sound) once a render has completed. Reason being is that user commonly runs renders on a separate machine and would like a method to prevent him constantly checking to see if complete.
Hello, i asked this too years ago. But i found great solution. You can install free software called Shutter http://www.den4b.com/products/shutter
In this program you can setup Event and Action - for example - for rendering you need set up CPU usage below some % ( maybe below 15 % for 10 second ) and action to open file MP3. So if your rendering finish, processor usage low down and action start playing MP3.
Thanks for the suggestion, though unfortunately I need a solution that is workable without requiring admin rights for users to install secondary apps.
Neat suggestion though.
Propably not possible. Only i found in old topic ( 6 years ago ) script to Luxology for Modo http://community.thefoundry.co.uk/asset/scripts/view.aspx?id=1412 but i don't know if this can work with Luxology in Microstation
Is this not possible talk with administrator to remotely install this soft on your computer ?
This is old tread

Hi Duncan,
I found an application called File Alert Monitor that may work for you.
It can monitor multiple folders for changes and pop-up an alert and/or play an audio alert.
You can define which file types it will look for.
