Hi all,
We are having some difficulties in the presentation of our steelwork drawings taken as dynamic cuts from our 3D model.
We have a requirement of seeing the hidden detail as a dashed line which I have done changing the 'Edge Settings' in the display styles and then changed the presentation of the view, see below;
So far, so good!
The issue we are having is that the hidden detail is too prominent so I want to be able to 'grey' this out. I've looked at the various 'Edge Settings' in display styles but I can't see a way to separately control the colours of the solid and hidden lines.
Below is what the sections currently look like;
You can see that the hidden lines are as prominent as the solid lines.
Below is the type of output we're trying to achieve (this was taken from an old job which was done in AutoCAD, where the hidden detail has just been greyed out)
Does anyone know if/how I can achieve this?
If you are using Dynamic mode as Visible Edges option in the Reference Dialog, you can set the weight of the Visible Edges thicker than that of the Hidden Edges.
If you have the THL / Legacy / CVE set as the Visible Edges mode, you can set a grey Lighter color for the Hidden edges.
Thank you for the reply Nilesh, that has enabled us to get the desired output.
One thing I've noticed is when I change the setting to legacy the section loses its Orientation and then shows as Not Found in red, I noticed that on your screen shot too.
It doesn't appear to affect the positioning of the reference but I just wanted to double check to see if I should be aware of anything?
for Legacy mode - this is expected.
In Connect Edition, we have moved to Cached Visible edges which gives a accurate result & the result is also fast.
Another advantage of Cached output is that any change in the design is automatically ( or with alert ) reflected in the Cached drawing.
