Making extended solids seamless

Making extended solids seamless

When using “Modify Solids/Extrude faces” you get visible joints where the solids have been extended. This can become very confusing on technical drawings and presentations.

It happens in all presentation styles except “Smooth”. How do I get a seamless appearance in the more useful “Transparent modelling” or “Illustration” style?

  • Hi, when you extrude faces, then you basically create the edge; therefore that edge is visible. There are several ways how to illuminate the issue.

    a) instead of "extrude faces", switch off the "extrude face"; then the edge would not be created.

    b) use feature solids; they are somehow don't show inner edges, that belongs on the same plane of the solid.

    I hope that helps
