"Glare" on elements

Question

Can someone shed some light on why I am experiencing what I would call "glare" on all my elements? I'm new to Luxology and there are way too many settings that I have no idea about 
 
 All steel elements should be dark grey but the come out glaringly white

I agree with martin's comments. Looking at your sample dgn I think the main thing to do is adjust the brightness on your rendering. 
 Once you have adjusted the brightness setting be sure update the Light Setup by doing the following: 
 
 For V8i - Click the top left icon on the Luxology Image Settings Dialog 
 For Connect Edition - Right-click near the Brightness slider on the Luxology Render Dialog and choosing Update Light Setup from the popup menu. 
 
 This will make sure these brightness adjustments will be used for any new renderings.

Hi. 
 1. In material editor use slider - COLOR < > PATTERN - move it little bit left and add little bit more green color than pattern 
 2. Click on PATTERN map and make this map bigger 4x4 m for example or use other texture from internet 
 for example i made some grass in Photoshop ( see attached my textures ) 
 3. You can use in material settings FUR or DISPLACMENT too ( very long rendering ) or 3d grass from Landscape.pal
