I have a couple of png-images for a brighter asphalt, grass and gravel.

The MS_PATTERN variable determines where we look for both Pattern and bump maps. There is an MS_BUMP variable as well but we will look in the MS_PATTERN search path for bump maps if not found by MS_BUMP.

You can add your own directory for your pattern maps or you could copy them to the folder where we already look.

Cheers,

Thanks for your reply.

I am using OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition.

Im my workspace MS_MATERIAL points to the ...Standards\materials\ in Organization-Civil as well as ...\OpenRoadsDesigner\Default\materials\ and my WorkSet ...\Standards\materials\. This is what I prefer.

So do I need to have the png-files in the Standards>Material>bump and/or in the Standards>Materials>pattern folder?

What is the best workflow to create a new dgnlib? Is there a video clip showing that?

RE: How to create a new materials dgnlib for MicroStation (and ORD) CE?

Hi Marianne,

What version of MicroStation are you using you can always copy your dgnlib into same folder where Bentley_Materials.dgnlib is located. In V8i it would be by default located C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\WorkSpace\System\materials. In MicroStation CONNECT Edition it is located here C:\ProgramData\Bentley\connectsharedcontent\materials.

You can put it anywhere you like but you will need to edit the MS_Material configuration variable to add your own custom path.
